Explains how video clips are created automatically for transcript designations and how to export those clips from either the Transcript Viewer or the Designations worksheet.

When a video file is uploaded and linked to a transcript in .MDB format, the video automatically synchronises with the transcript. In this scenario, any designation created on the transcript also automatically generates a video clip based on the timeline of the highlighted text.

These designation video clips can be exported without the highlighted transcript text, either:

  • Directly from the Transcript Viewer, or
  • From the Designations worksheet

This allows users to extract and share clean video excerpts corresponding to designated transcript sections.

Exporting designation video clips from the Transcript Viewer

  1. Open the transcript in the Transcript Viewer.
  2. Click the three‑dot (more options) icon in the top‑right corner of the viewer.
  3. From the dropdown menu, select Export clips.
  4. Export clips dialog opens for you to choose what to include for your export:
    • The title card displays the filename and time frame for the clip.
  5. Confirm the export.

Note:
Using this method exports all designation video clips associated with the transcript.

Opening the worksheet

  1. Click the Project button (showing the project name) in the top‑right corner.
  2. Select Exports from the dropdown.
  3. Locate the generated video export.
  4. Click Download export.

The video file is downloaded to your computer’s default Downloads folder.

Exporting designation video clips from the Designations worksheet

  1. Open the Designations worksheet.
  2. Select one or more designations that include video clips.
    • A play icon next to a designation indicates that a video clip is available.
  3. Click Actions (top left).
  4. Select Export clips from the dropdown.
  5. Export clips dialog opens for you to choose what to include for your export.

Note:
If multiple clips are selected and the Include title card option is enabled, all clips are exported as a single video, with each clip separated by its own title card.

Accessing the export

  1. Click the Project button (project name).
  2. Select Exports.
  3. Locate the newly generated video export.
  4. Click Download export.

The exported video will download to your computer’s Downloads folder.

Use designation video exports to quickly share precise, time‑coded excerpts from transcripts. Choose the export method that best fits your needs—Transcript Viewer for full exports or the Designations worksheet for targeted clip selection.
