How to Restore Your Project When Uploading Archives Larger Than 50GB

Explains the steps required to restore a project from an archive larger than 50GB, which requires assistance from Opus 2 Platform Support.

Archives larger than 50GB cannot be uploaded directly through the platform. Restoring a project from an archive of this size requires transferring the archive file to Opus 2 Platform Support and coordinating the restoration process through the System Admin area.

Restoring a project from a large archive

Step 1: Archive the project

Ensure the project has been correctly archived before proceeding. For full instructions, see Archiving a project.

Step 2: Send the archive to Opus 2 Platform Support

Transfer the archive .zip file to Opus 2 Platform Support via FTP or another agreed secure file transfer method. Retain a record of the file transfer for reference.

Step 3: Create a new project

Log in to the Opus 2 platform and create a new project. Name it to indicate its purpose — for example, {Project} – Restore. This helps both you and the support team identify the project during the restoration process.

Step 4: Notify Opus 2 Platform Support

Once the new project has been created, notify Opus 2 Platform Support. This allows them to proceed with replacing the project entry in the Archive table with the zip file provided.

Step 5: Unarchive the project

After Opus 2 Platform Support confirms the archive has been replaced, navigate to the System Admin area and unarchive the project. The project will be restored to the state captured at the time of archiving.
