Explains how to generate a search hits report in Excel or Word format from the Search page in Opus 2.
Search hit reports are a valuable output that legal professionals use to highlight and share search findings with colleagues and clients. Reports can be produced in Excel (.xlsx) or Word (.docx) format.
Prerequisites
Users require the Export search results capability to perform this task.
Creating a search hits report
- In your project, select the Search tab.
- Enter your search term in the search field and press Enter or select Search. The search results are displayed as a document list.
- To preview the search hits for a specific document, select the document. It opens in a viewing pane on the right, with hits listed to the left of the pane.
- Select your chosen documents using the checkboxes, or select all documents using the checkbox at the top. The Actions button becomes active.
- Select Actions > Export search report and choose between Excel (.xlsx) or Word (.docx) format.
- If Excel format is selected, choose whether Documents and Links should be included. Optionally, use the Document field selector to choose which metadata fields for the documents should be included in the report.
- A Download started message appears. The report downloads to the folder set in your browser's download settings.
Note: The Principal ID (document name) is repeated at the start of every hit reference to make it easier to identify the source document for each search hit.
