If you have a document in a foreign language in the Opus 2 Platform, you are going to need to import the translated version and link it as a related document to the original document. This article explains how to do this.
Locate the original foreign language document
- Log in to the solution where the documents are stored.
- Navigate to the folder, project, or case where the document is located.
- Identify the source document using the unique Opus ID or Bates identifier.
Upload the translation
- In your Opus 2 project, create a folder called Translations.
- Select the folder Translations.
- Select Upload.
- Drag your translated file into the Upload dialog or browse for it.
- Select Upload.
The translated file is sent for processing and uploads in to the Translations folder.
Upload the metadata csv or xls
- In MS Excel, create a Comma Separated Values file (.CSV) file containing the Opus IDs of both the source document and the translated document. The spreadsheet must have a column entitled Translation that contains the source document Opus ID. Here is an example:
Opus-ID | Translation |
opus-25 | opus-25 |
opus-148 | opus-25 |
- In your project, select Manage > Import metadata.
- In the Import document metadata dialog, do the following:
- Select Match on and then select Opus ID from the dropdown list underneath.
- In the Translation column, select Translation from the dropdown list of field to be mapped to.
- Select Import.
Review the link between documents
- In the Documents page, select the translated document.
- In the Document Preview pane, select Related Documents.
- Select the original source document and ensure that you can review both documents side by side.
The original source document and translated version are now linked as related documents.
