When downloading documents and original files from the Opus2 system, there are multiple options available. Downloading native files is a great way to get documents in their original file formats (.docx, .xlsx, .txt, etc.) and save them to share with other parties. This guide will show you how to download documents and original files individually, or in bulk.
Prerequisites
To perform a direct download of single or multiple documents that have been processed into pdf format on upload, a user must have the Download documents capabilty.
To access the Export menu, a user must have the Export documents capability.
To access the Files page, a user must have the Access file manager capability.
To download original files from the Files page or Documents page, the user must have the Download original documents capability.

Downloading a document
There are three methods to download documents:
- Right-click on a document, and use the context menu.
- Select the checkbox and use the Actions menu.
- Select the download icon in the Document Viewer.
Method 1: Context menu
- In the Documents page, hover over the document to download and right-click.
- Select Download followed by one of these two options:
- Download
- Download media (appears if hovering over a media file)
If you select Download, your document is downloaded as a .PDF file. Download media is used for videos, sound files or similar.
You see a message stating Your document download has been requested.
Your document download is located in the default folder set in your browser. Check the help for your browser to find out how to change this download location.
Method 2: Actions menu
- Select one or more documents by selecting the checkboxes.
- Select the Actions menu.
- Select a Download option.
You see a message stating Your document download has been requested and your document(s) is downloaded as a .PDF file.
Your document download is located in the default folder set in your browser. Check the help for your browser to find out how to change this download location.
Method 3: View panel
- In the Documents page, select a document by selecting the row for the file.
- With the View tab selected in the Document Viewer, click the
icon, just above the document preview itself.
- Select the Download option. FIX THIS IMAGE
You see a message stating Your document download has been requested.
Your downloaded document is located in the default folder set in your browser. Check the help for your browser to find out how to change this download location.
Downloading an original file
You can download a file in its original format from the Files page.
- In the Files page, select Actions > Download or right-click on the file and select Download.

You can also download a file in its original format from the Documents page by selecting one of three methods:
- Right-click on a file, and use the context menu.
- Select the checkbox and use the Actions menu.
- Select the download icon in the Document Viewer.

- Click on the Actions dropdown menu.
- Select the Download originals option.

- In the Documents worksheet, select a file by selecting the row for the file.
- With the View tab selected in the Document Viewer, click the
