If text in the Opus 2 Platform appears faded or hard to read, this is usually caused by the browser falling back to an alternative font (commonly Lato Light) instead of the intended Lato font. This can happen due to browser caching issues, missing font installations, or browser settings that block custom web fonts.
Following the steps below will ensure the correct font is installed, loaded, and rendered clearly.
1. Clear your browser cache
Cached resources can prevent the correct font from loading. Clearing the cache often resolves the issue.
- Chrome:
Settings → Privacy and Security → Clear browsing data - Firefox:
Menu → Settings → Privacy & Security → Clear Data - Safari:
Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data → Remove All
After clearing the cache, refresh the page.
2. Check font installation
Ensure the Lato font is installed on your device. If it is missing, the browser will substitute a fallback font.
Windows
- Download Lato from Google Fonts.
- Extract the downloaded files.
- Double‑click the
.ttffile and select Install.
Mac
- Download Lato from Google Fonts.
- Open the downloaded file.
- Click Install Font.
3. Enable web fonts in browser settings
Some browsers may block custom fonts due to privacy or content restrictions.
Chrome:
Settings → Privacy and Security → Site Settings → Additional Content Settings → Fonts
Ensure Allow sites to use their own fonts is enabled.Firefox:
Settings → Fonts & Colors
Confirm the default font is set to Lato.Safari:
Preferences → Advanced
Ensure Never use font sizes smaller than is unchecked.
