During collaborative designation review, you can add responses to the designations in a transcript by importing designations from a file.

Do the following:
  1. Select Designations from the top of the screen.

  2. Select Manage > Import items

The Designations import dialog opens.

  1. Drag or browse to your spreadsheet (.xls, .xlsx, .csv) in the dialog.

The Designations import dialog expands to show the information on the spreadsheet.

  1. Select the checkbox alongside the row for any designation that you do not wish to import.

  2. The Opus ID column is used to match the incoming designation with the appropriate corresponding transcript in the case. Each transcript/document has a unique identifier (opus-id) created for them at the time of upload. This Opus ID must match the Opus ID on the appropriate transcript.

Ensure that the Opus ID column is set to Designation: Opus ID from the dropdown list as shown below.

At a minimum, you need to include the Opus ID and Designation Range columns to perform an import. It would be best practice to also include the Designation Type though you can edit that value manually after the import.
In the absence of a Designation Range column, the page, line, and word information can also be collated into one column and separated with colons. For example, to designate page 12, line 1, word 2 through page 12, line 5, word 5, enter         12:1:2-12:5:5.
  1. Select your chosen Import Behaviour from the dropdown list:

    • Create and update (Create new designations and update existing)

    • Create (Only create new designations)

    • Update (Only update existing designations)

The columns with a green tick at the top are the columns that match between the current worksheet and the imported spreadsheet.
If the spreadsheet does not have a header row change the First row content to Data.
Map the Opus ID and Page line fields to the corresponding fields prefixed with Designations.
The table displays the information that will be imported into your Designation worksheet. Only columns with a tick at the top are included. The fields under these columns are checked using the following criteria:
Blue background – These fields are added.
Orange background and text – These fields are only partially added as only a part of the field has matched.
Red background and text – These fields are not be added as the formats do not match.
  2. Select Import to complete the process.
