Single document analysis

Opus 2 Single document analysis enables you to do the following:

• Perform real-time analysis on single documents or transcripts via the documents details pane or in the document/transcript viewers.
• Perform bulk AI analysis on a set of documents/transcripts in a canvas.
• Query a single document or transcript for information.
• Obtain summaries of different lengths from documents/transcripts.
• See contextual evidence for AI results.
• Add extracted information (entities) to worksheets.

The following entities can be analysed and extracted from a document: 

• Key points
• Events
• People
• Organizations

Note: If you want to extract any of the entities that have been found during the analysis into one of your worksheets, such as the Characters or Chronology worksheets, this must be done from the document viewer.

Key points

Select Key Points to see a numbered list of key summary points for the document. AI Analysis attempts to return around ten items, the precise number depends on the length and complexity of the text.

When using the Key Points feature, the References dropdown menu can be used to hide the source information at the bottom of each section or display different types of citations. This shows the relevant pages that this information is being retrieved from.

Events

Select Events to analyse the document for specific events. AI Analysis attempts to extract the following information, depending on what is available in the document: date, summary of event, location of event, name of participants, and description of what took place. If not all the information is available the event is still extracted, with some fields left blank.

People

Selecting People analyses the document for specific characters. AI Analysis attempts to extract the following information about each person, depending on what is available in the document: first name, last name, organization the person is associated with, job title, description of the person, and role played by the person in the case, and address. If not all the information is available the person is still extracted, with some fields left blank.

Organizations

Select Organizations analyzes the document for companies and organizations mentioned in the text. AI Analysis attempts to extract the following information about each organisation: name, address, and brief description. If not all the information is available the organisation is still extracted, with some fields left blank.
