Improvements

Field metadata header and footer added to transcripts on export (GA - feature) ▶️

The abilty to add headers and footers, for example, a Case Id and Deponent, is useful when formatting a transcript for use outside the Opus 2 Platform. In the Advanced Settings tab of the Export dialog, you can now configure metadata fields to show in the header and footer of the transcript export.

Improvements to the Export dialog (GA)

After conducting feedback sessions with internal stakeholders on the 8.14.0 redesign, several high priority usability improvements were identified to make the workflow clearer and more intuitive for users. Enhancements include:

  • Indented navigation options under section headers for better visual clarity
  • Displaying collection-specific settings only when exporting a collection
  • Improved layout and grouping within the overview panel

Support for two way document synchronisation via API (GA - config)

The Documents API has been enhanced to support version management and retrieving documents, adding functionality that includes:

  • List all documents changed since a given time
  • Return document metadata for a given document ID
  • Get version information for a given document ID
  • Download a specific version of a document
  • Delete a specific version of a document

Whitespace added to the header and footer for stamps (GA - config) ▶️

Clients told us that when stamps were applied to the body of a document there was a risk of obscuring important content, especially when documents were exported or reviewed. Now, in addition to the existing options for applying stamps on top of the document itself (Top left/right, Bottom left/right), you can apply stamps in safe, dedicated whitespace in the header or footer.

Note: Your document gets larger by the size of the stamp if the stamps are added in the header or footer.

Padding option added for collection numbering (GA - config) ▶️

Clients told us that when preparing court bundles, they need bundle numbers appearing in a consistent format with a set length. This ensures that numbers are easy to read and can be compared quickly. Previously, Cases collection numbering did not allow for a number length to be set, or for export in the correct sort order; this has now been changed bringing the collection numbering format in line with the Custom ID field, which can already be used for Bates numbering. Changes include:

  • A new configuration option Collection number length has been added to collections. This allows users to define a fixed number of digits (1 - 9 or unrestricted).
  • When a length is set, numbers are automatically left-padded with zeros.
  • If a number exceeds the defined length, a warning is displayed and the user can choose to proceed or not.

System admin: New filters on the Users page (GA)

The User tab on the System Admin page can now be filtered using one or more options, including user fields such as name, company, and last login dates.

New Pan button on the Transcript Viewer (GA - feature)

Panning functionality already exists for documents. iPad users can now use the Pan button to scroll through transcript pages and add text annotations/designations.

Improvements to the .docx search hit report (GA)

On export, the File Name field has been replaced with the Principal ID field, if one exists. Also, previously it was difficult to locate search hits; now search hits are highlighted in yellow.

Improved seek bar behaviour (GA)

The seek bar is now anchored to the video player and has been given a modern redesign.

Video conversion estimate for video uploads (GA)

An estimate for the conversion of videos, based on filesize, is shown on the Files and Upload History page for files in the In Progress status.

Note: Videos are only converted if they are not .mp4 format. All other supported video file types are converted to .mp4 format when uploaded to the platform.

Improved behaviour for Pop-out media player (GA)

Previously a standalone media player appeared at the same time as having a media player in the Details panel frozen in the background. Now, when the media player pops out, there is no longer a duplicate in the background.
