Improvements

Showing transcript excerpts in the worksheet view (GA – config)

If you have notes or designations on a transcript, or designations, the table view will now show the excerpt, along with optionally specified lines above and below. Settings have been added to forms and cards to specify whether the excerpt should be shown, and if so, how many context lines should be shown.

Increased support for CJK (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) characters (GA)

The range of fonts supported by the Opus 2 Platform has been extended to improve the rendering of CJK characters.

Importing exhibit links (GA – feature)

Links on transcripts imported using the project importer from v.7 are now preserved and displayed in v.8

Adding users from spreadsheets: prevent creating duplicate users (GA)

When users are added to an instance in bulk via a spreadsheet a check against the email field is now run to prevent the creation of duplicate users.

New unique 'personnel number' reference for users (GA)

A new field is available when adding and updating users in the system to hold a personnel number. This must be unique across the system. It has been added to connection to external systems such as Ethical Walls applications where users are identified by their personnel number rather than their platform User Id or email address.

Sub records form view (GA)

For worksheet records with their own sub-records, there is now a button to show details of the sub-record in a pop-up dialog. This is available in the main table view and when viewing the main record in the details panel.

Worksheet default sort order improvements (GA - config)

When configuring a worksheet the settings for the default ordering now support  a primary and secondary sort field and a choice of direction. The secondary sort field is used to decide the ordering of records that have the same value for the primary sort field.

Choice options from list (GA - config)

A new option is available when configuring choice fields in worksheets. Instead of defining all the options as part of the worksheet definition, they can now be set to take the options from a system-wide list of values. System wide lists are uploaded as spreadsheets on the system resources page. They always require two columns, one of identifiers and one of values, but can support further columns to allow grouping the choices to make selection easier. One typical use cases for system-wide choice option lists is to hold a list of cities, possibly broken down by area or country.

Worksheet 'suggested' option for field data (GA - config)

Previously, worksheet fields could either be made mandatory, or left as optional. New or edited records cannot be saved if any of the mandatory fields have not been set. Now a new “suggested” level is available to handle cases where a field should be supplied but may not be available when the rest of the values are entered. Missing suggested fields will generate a warning to the user, but do not stop the record being saved.

Export from system admin section (GA)

System administrators are now able to export data from users, teams, projects and archives tables in the system administration menu. Data is exported to an .xsls file. If a filter is applied, only the filtered data will be exported, and image fields on the users page can be ignored.

Configure max file size setting (GA - config)

Platform places a limit on the maximum size of files that can be uploaded. Previously this was fixed as part of the environment. Now it can be set for individual projects by a project administrator from the project settings page. If no maximum file size limit is set, the system default is set at 10GB.

Increased character limit for Project name (GA)

When creating a new project or editing the details of an existing project, the name assigned to the project may now be up to 150 characters long.

Chronologic sorting of designations (GA)

Transcript designations can now be sorted chronologically according to their appearance within the transcript, both ascending and descending. Designations exports that have been sorted in this manner will also be sorted chronologically in the export.

Bugfixes

MPG Transcript clips not exporting

A defect was found with projects being unable to export clips from .mpg transcript files. This has now been corrected. Newly uploaded MPG/MPEG files should now show the correct length in the transcript details tab and clips should be exported as expected. For existing MPG/MPEG files with duration 0, they will need to be selected in the Files page and thenselect ‘Recalculate duration’ in the Actions menu to correct the issue.

Projects unable to load more than 10,000 links

In previous versions, a maximum of 10,000 links could be loaded in a single project. This has now been fixed so that all existing links in a project are loaded.

Transcript handling of empty date from MDB transcript files.

An upload bug that prevented MDB transcript files with empty date fields from uploading has been fixed. MDB transcripts with missing date field now upload successfully with the date field set as blank and can be selected post upload.

Login flow getting stuck

An issue was discovered where password authenticated users would get stuck after login, unable to access the environment. This has now been rectified.

Relativity field mappings being lost

The Relativity importer has been upgraded to prevent the loss of field mappings that were happening for certain import settings.

Downloading portal documents

A fix has been implemented to stop the portal documents tables showing the wrong file status and preventing download

Fix missing display of location of search hits on some documents

Previously search queries matching certain documents would return the details of the document but the location within the document was not being displayed. This is now resolved.

Update the MD5 hashes to show the correct values

The initial release of the document MD5 hash feature had a defect that meant that the hash values were wrong for certion files depending on the nature of the processing that was applied to them during ingestion. This version resolves the problem for new uploads and retroactively updates existing documents to show the currect hash values.
