The Opus 2 Assist feature allows for automatic summarizing of documents. The document summary feature provides a text-based summary of one single document. No contextual information beyond what exists in the document text itself is added to a summary.

Document summary can be done for any document from the main documents page as well as for an individual document from within the document viewer.  The summary feature functions in the same way irrespective of whether the summary is being generated on the documents page or in the document viewer.

From within AI Assist tab of the Details Panel or Document Viewer, clicking on the Summary option provides you with a choice of three different document summaries that can be generated: brief, standard and comprehensive.

  • Brief provides a text summary of around 200 words.
  • Standard provides a text summary of around 400 words.
  • Comprehensive provides a text summary of around 600 words.

When using the Summary feature, the Show Sources toggle can be selected to show or hide the source information at the bottom of each section. This information will show how relevant each source is to the summary when hovered over.

Clicking on a source page while in the document viewer will bring you directly to that section in your document with the source passages highlighted.
